Биография
Sergei Nikolaevich Artsibashev was a Soviet and Russian theater director and actor. He was born on September 14, 1951, in the village of Kalya in the North Ural City Council, Sverdlovsk Oblast, and passed away on July 12, 2015, in Moscow. Artsibashev was honored as a People's Artist of the Russian Federation in 2005 and was the recipient of two State Prizes of the Russian Federation in 1996 and 2000.

In 1976, he graduated from the acting department of the Sverdlovsk Theater School under the guidance of Honored Artist of the Uzbek SSR Vasily Konstantinovich Kozlov. In 1981, he completed his studies at the directing department of the Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatrical Art (GITIS) under the guidance of Maria Osipovna Knebel.

From 1980 to 1989, Artsibashev worked as a director and actor at the Moscow Taganka Theater. From 1989 to 1991, he served as the chief director of the Moscow Comedy Theater. He directed over forty performances in theaters across Russia, the CIS, and abroad.

Artsibashev founded the Moscow State "Theater na Pokrovke" in 1991 and served as its artistic director until 2015. From 2002 to 2011, he was also the artistic director of the Moscow Academic Theater named after Vladimir Mayakovsky.

Sergei Artsibashev had two older brothers. Vladimir Artsibashev (1948-2021) was a television producer and creator of the show "50x50," while Alexander Nikolaevich Artsibashev (1949-2014) was a writer.
Смерть
Sergei Artsibashev passed away on July 12, 2015, from cancer. His farewell ceremony took place on July 15 at the Central House of Actors. He was laid to rest at the Vagankovo Cemetery.
